Your Great Start at Dating Sites: 5 Rules

This is not an article with standard tips and all the bla-bla-bla. I'm not an expert to give recipes that work here and there. No. I just want to share my own experience with you. So, let's start! Here are 5 main rules I follow to make my online dating experience better.

Rule 1

How does it work? A dating website is a platform that gives you a possibility to meet and interact with a great variety of people, not more. The stuff running it is not obliged to find you a match, or control everyone's messages, or entertain you. Remember this. Your success and happiness are entirely in your hands. Rely just on yourself.

Rule 2

Be attentive while choosing an online dating service. It must respond to your requirements. If you are looking for love and romance, choose a traditional dating site. If you are more into nsa and sex, you better opt for the casual ones. Thus, the site will meet your expectations, and you won't waste your time on unexciting people.

Also, be very exigent in everything that concerns the site's appearance. There should be no external advertisement, no irritating pop-ups and stuff like that. The clearer the site, the better it is. Besides, the navigation must be easy and intuitive. I doubt that you want spend hours trying to find a necessary button, for example. And, of course, there must be the pages with the contact info, faq, and the site's policy.

By the way, do not forget to check out the reviews before you join the site. They usually tell you about the pros and cons of the online dating sites, and sometimes warn you of scammers.

Rule 3

Once you've chosen a site, take the time to fill in your profile. Make a short description of yourself, tell what you are looking for, and don't forget about the profile picture. Noone wants to talk to an anonym. Also, a complete profile is the best way to show that you are open to meet new people.

Rule 4

Don't hurry up to delete your account, if you think there are robots or scams at the site. Automatic messages to the new members is a universal practice among the dating sites. They just want you to get more interested, relaxed and confident. That's it.

Scammers are a more serious problem. If someone whom you barely know asks you for money, your address or anything like that, be careful! Never give your personal information! Also, reporting such a user will be a great idea.

Rule 5

Be active! Remember that most of people are as shy as you are. Drop a line to the users you like and respond the messages. Maybe you will not meet your love right away, but you will find lots of new friends. That's for sure.
